Hi there! So in this tutorial, I'll show you how to make
quick, easy and simple angel wings. Before we start let me just say: please do
not copy this tutorial pixel by pixel. Use it as a technique, and go from
there. Do your own thing!! <3
Now that that's over, we can start! Ready? ^w^
The first step is the outline. You might want to look at some pictures of birds or some other tutorials to get a good idea of how an angel wing is supposed to look. You're free to use the general structure of my example but, again, don't copy it.
Once you have your outline down, go ahead and shade in the outline with the color you want to use, and then flood fill with white (or the lightest shade of whatever color you're using).
Shadows! *gets excited* xD You'll want to make sure you pixel in your darkest shadow color where you think there will be shadows. Like on the folding part of the wing (to the left) make sure to shadow where the smaller feathers would be. Also pay attention to shading the feathers under the top feathers, as you see I've done. :3
Now for your lighter shadow color. With this one, just shade in where you think it'll look right. This really is just a finishing touch. Make sure not to overdo it, or your wing will look pillowshaded. D:
Now for the final touches~! I just shaded the outline and
added another small feather that I thought would look better. <3 Remember, I
used white, so there was only minimal shading here. If you're using another
color, you might have to keep shading until you think it looks good~ :3
And there you have it, your own perfectly lovely set of angel
wings to use on your dolls! <3 I hope you enjoyed and understood this
